55' CJ5 clear Ohio title claiming 12k miles, odometer shows 13k and works, everything is orig except new 12v wires, and alt swap. 5.38's, twin stick, working pto, 3 speed, 12 pack leaf springs (is this normal?), 134 runs great. Tub is 90% solid floors have a little thru rust, body has 3-4 tennis ball size surface rust. Everything shifts, works, and does not leak. Owner truly believes the mileage is orig, paint looks orig, but he is getting me the numbers of the trim plate, data plates are all there, dash is not hacked up at all!!! $3k would prob have this in my garage and I have been looking for a 55 for a long long time! Help... can not resist. ANy help on what else to look for as far as orig equipment would be great

Well, if it's what you're looking for, it's in good shape, and the price is right, I'm not sure why you're asking.;)

I'd buy it. Sounds good if it's what the seller claims. Restoration material.

Sounds good to me. That would be a nice price on one that original.

Waiting on the pics right now, I guess they are pretty large in size, so it is taking awhile for him to upload them. I really did not expect much help from anyone here :) If it is as orig as he claims, and I will post pics as soon as he gets them to me, I plan on figuring out a way to grab this. I really wanted a flat fender truck, but I am not sure I can pass up something that could possibly be this orig. This will be a resto not a mod if I do grab this

    Can you afford the money?

    If not buy it anyhow:)

    H.

p.s.- no trim plates on '55s, AFAIK they didn't show up before the mid-late '60s.

    Sounds like a great deal.

Let me know if you end up passing it up. I have been looking for a while for a new resto project and would definatly be interested in picking this up if you pass it up (which you shouldn't)!

Didn't you just sell your 67 with the rare T18 Tranny that was relatively rust free? That's the one I wanted.:( What does this have that your 67 didn't besides a cool speedo and a pto which you could have added. Since everyone elts was being supportive I figured I would try to be the voice of reason. You have a problem.R)

Ok I'm done...Lookes great! bring it home!:)
