I just picked this up yesterday. It is a 1949 CJ3A It has no engine , transmission ot tranfer case.
The PO had put in a V8 at some time , he cut the hood and added the wedges along the hood. and also streched the front of the fenders and hooh.
My plans for the is to make it into a JEEP SURREY
The front diff is bad don't know about he rear end yet.
It has very little rust for a JEEP of this age.
The hard top is a Koing but no doors, and also a PTO winch on the back with drive shaft.
So what do you think of my plans
Will have to finsh th CJ6 first before I start on this, will be collecting parts for it.
It was bought from a company called CASA ESPERANZA that take donated vehicle and resells the ant the money go to the familys of cancer pations.
Gave tham $295. for it as it was going to a good couse.

    Ha !
I bought the other one they had - it turns out it is an M38. The engine is taken apart and it looks like it has the wrong windshield, but otherwise mostly complete...

The One you got looked a little too "involved" for me - but definitely rebuildable.

I've wrapped mine up until I get rid of some other projects...

    If you're looking for some axles for yours, I have a d27 and a d44 (two-piece) that I won't be using (3.73 gears). Yours has a D41, I think -

    Anyway, nice buy....

If you have an m38 can you send me pics? I have a correct windshield frame for sale that needs a little work, but pretty solid as long as a good correct engine that needs rebuilding.

Well, like I said....she's had a hard life. Here's a glimpse of what I've gotten myself into... no MAJOR rust, but a bit of bodywork ahead...

The VIN plate behind the passenger seat on the wheel well is gone, but the dashplates are intact and very legible -
no pics right now, but I'll try to get some up...
