Well, it is finished. It took a little getting used to the touchier steering, but a whole lot easier to drive. Thanks for the help everyone!!!

Alright, alright, here are some pictures. I am a bit technologically challenged, so here goes.

Here is my first attempt at dowloading photos. We hit the dunes about 11:30 Sat. After several attempts, we finally made it up test hill. I obviously need a bit of practice driving in the sand, but I was very pleased with the power steering and overall performance of the stock powertrain.

The gearbox, steering column, pitman arm and adjustment sleeve attached to the tie rod end on the pitman arm are from a 1978 J-20 pickup. I pressed one of the original adjustment sleeves into the J-20's and welded it. The tie rod is an adjusment sleeve from a 1997 Cherokee XJ with a 2.5ltr. I used a Flaming River universal joint on the steering box with a section of double d shaft to lengthen it and another u-joint from Flaming River. That brought the total of u-joints to 3, so I added a bearing to the steering shaft. Afterthought being 20-20, a coupler to join the J-20 steering shaft to the stub shaft would have eliminated the third u-joint and the bearing. Oh well. I did not modify the crossmember at all. I am running smallish tires for now, so I figured the rods should be strong enough, unless tire size is increased. The pump/bracket is a 1980 Buick Regal and the exhaust manifolf is from a 1978 Buick Regal.

So far, so good. It took a beating at the dunes and is still straight.
