Typical bolt pattern should be 5x5.5". Anything with an identical lug pattern will work.

That's not entirely correct Don, there are both Ford and Dodge trucks out there with the 5 on 5.5" pattern that have a center hole that is too small to fit over the hubs or axle centers on a Jeep. When cruising the local boneyards, you want to look for rims that have a 4.25" center hole.

i believe Early Daihatsu 4x4's have the same pattern and the centre hole fits, they even look like a Jeep one, i'm not sure if you got them over there but?

A few Daihatsu Rockys ... not many. Daihatsu USA shut down in '92, according to Wikipedia.

To the OP, you're probably better off to buy aftermarket steel wheels. I don't know of any compatible patterns that are 8" wide. The period Kelsey-Hayes aftermarket wheels would work, but they are going to be scarce and more expensive than modern aftermarket wheels.

Older Ford pickup wheels will work, but you ahe to cut out the centers to 4.5" diam, and they tend to break out the bolt holes when cut out.

I have Daihatsu Rocky that my wife and kids drive on the trail but I've never checked the wheel size. Thanks for the tip.

I got some stock steel wheels off an '80 cj5, look just like originals but fit over disc brakes!

I am using the rims from my old 89 F150 4x4. They are 15x8, 5 on 5.5" and have the large center hole. They clear a D44 and a D30 with disk brakes.
