Hey guys, new to this form, been reading alot of old post trying to get some knowledge. I recently came across a 62 cj5. Has a four banger roll bar no doors, over under drive, runs decent. Its in fair condition no top of any kind for it. i was curious what its worth. What would be low to high. I was going to offer him 500 for it but if he declines what be to much for it? Thanks

Kinda depends on where you are located, how much rust/body damage there is, mechanical condition, and how sentimental the present owner is with it. I would say anywhere from $1000 to $2500 could be expected.

most jeeps don't have tops, over/under drive, do you mean an warn overdrive? Where are you located? and how is the body? floors are often a rust problem on these old jeeps and is a common repair. If the bodys in good shape, and it has an overdrive and runs, 1500 would be a fine price, but if you can get it for 500 that's really great! It comes down to what he really wants for it, and how much he likes it. If it's an "old friend" and he sees it going to a good home sometimes the money isn't the only factor.:) Good luck, pics would really help. I've gotten a few jeeps for free, some for a couple hundered, and spent $1000's on others. Hope this helps.
