Well its time to update to 11 inch rear brakes.
I have all the part numbers for shoes, drums, hardware kit ect.
What I don't know is what are the backing plates off of for this swap? :?
    I have a 59 CJ5.
    Thanks

    1972 - 1975 CJ5, or some years of Ford Bronco/pick up truck.
IIRC, some SJ (full size) Jeeps too...

'72-'75 CJ's, Some years of DJ's, Wagoneers with the 6 bolt backing plate pattern (where they bolt to the housing). Early Ford Bronco front's will work as will some early Ford 1/2 ton backing plates. If using the rear CJ or Waggy you will need to drill two holes. No big deal... May be others I'm forgetting right now...Nickmil

I swapped all four from a 1960s Wagoneer (Gladiator style). The whole setup was bolt on.

You can call AAA motors in Boaz Alabama and ask for some, this a postal Jeep place, they have stacks of them.

Do not tell them they are for a cj. The owner is great but his parts guy is a moron and will say they won't fit as he knows nothing of cj's. Just tell him you need the 11" backing plates for an old (70's era) postal jeep that had a dana 44 in it. Give him some excuse that you don't know what year it is exactly.

fyi: the bronco drums DON"T clear the locking hubs (don't know about the tapered axle) and the jeep ones are cheaper.
