They were intended for the p-up and wagon, but you can probably make it work with some pillow blocks and a ingenuity.

Ask Herm the overdrive guy...he also does service on Koenig winches. I'll bet he could tell you off the top of his head. If you need parts he's also the guy to see. I've got a Koenig that I need to send off to him one of these days...needs new bushing pressed in. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it, but I don't want to mung it up.
    Cheers,
    Scott

Here's a pic showing the model 41 on top and the CJ model 51 on bottom. The pic shows the orientation or "clocking" as if they were bolted up on the back of the 18. You can see the model 51 hangs down lower and the 41 is clocked up higher. I know several people who are using the 41 on CJ's but most of them are modified, meaning they don't still have through the floor pedals or have different transmissions. I'd think it should work ok depending on if you still have the through the floor pedals or what transmission you are using. I could look at my '57 which is all stock and see if it would work but wouldn't be until this weekend..... Nickmil

After your PM about the different lenghts of the two, I measurent my 50 and its 8-1/2" input to output. It looks like it could maybe be 1" longer at the most, then I don't think it would work. And like nickmil said you would have a clocking problem. I suppose you could redrill and tap the holes for the correct orintation.

that would be great if you could look and let me know, if it will fit and not hit the frame, i believe i can make it work, i am not going all the way to the winch with the drive line, unless i have to, i am going to use the pto to power a hyd pump, closer to the middle of the jeep the better for me as the resivoir will be in the back of the tub,the winch i bought is hyd.,and i am setting the jeep up so as to have remote hyd, that way if i want to build a logspliter,or use the hyd for something else i have that option, worse case i will put it up for sale

as far as drive terrain, has l head in it now but f head is going in,shouldnt make any difference, t90,d18 bone stock right down to the rusted out hat channels:beer: looks like if i can make it work it will be better than the 51 as far as ground clearance

well i got the pto today, and here is the skinny for those who may be interested, it can be made to fit, with some minor floor bord work, and you may not have to do that, my hat channels are gone, i enlarged the hole where the pto shifter goes and got it real close, think i can shim the cross member about a quater of a inch and have it, only other major concearn is the u joint hitting the clutch bell crank, after looking at the pictures side by side, i think if i can make this one work it is better than they 51 because it doesnt hang down as far, looks like it would be almost impossible to hang it on a rock, it is higher than the frame

I looked at my stock '57 that has a Koenig and CJ pto on it and the biggest issue is like KW said, the u-joint looks like it would go where the stock Clutch bellcrank is at. The other thing that "may" be an issue is the Wagon/PU "might" hit the hat channel on the driver's side. It would definitely be close. A small body lift or shimming the cross member down may be needed here. By the way, the CJ PTO on mine doesn't hang below the crossmember so don't see that as a real issue. Nickmil

I dont have any pics of mine, Yours looks just like mine and its a Model 151-J.
Just to the left of the grease fitting in your picture there should be a small brass tag with the model number on it. I had to strip the paint off mine to read it.If its not there look in the same place on the other side of the housing.

Koneing sold complete winch units that consisted of the winch, pto, shaft and bumper with the rollers built in. It looks like your bumper is one of them. If that is the case, if you look on the top of the bumper, just to the left of the winch there should be some stamping showing all the data for the unit (unit model, winch model, pto model, etc.) , in my case its model 151J. It may be under a lot of paint, so you may have to do some scraping to see it.

Check and see if that is there. If you can just see the complete unit model and nothing else, let me know and I think I can tell by the unit model number what model the winch itself is.

Check like Wyomike said and see if the tag is under layers of paint. Sometimes over the years the tags fall off as they are glued on. I have 5 Koenig winches and only 1 still has the tag:rofl:. I have a copy of an original Koenig manual at home I got from Dr. Vern and can look up the model # if you want this weekend.
Just a bit of info, Koenig is still in business under Rawson-Koenig. They have a web site here:
    http://www.rawson-koenig.com/

They still sell pto winches but are different than the ones that were available when our Jeeps were new. SOME parts are still available, but they want the winch model and once you purchase a part from them for these old winches, it's yours whether it fits or not.....
