Be sure to post pics when you get it done. I would like to see how it turns out.

I drove by the shop this evening and it looks like the spreaders are welded in place. Not sure why they didn't call today? Coincidently, I was browsing this thread just now and noticed something familiar.

I don't have pics of mine yet, but this is exactly how it now looks (placement of spreaders and all).

After hearing his story (concussion, palsy, etc.), it makes me want to wrap the top bars with foam padding or something else that may soften a blow.

My spreader bar placement was not optimum  so I bought foam padding for the spreaders :D
Got it from Summit or Jegs, not too expensive. Its high density foam, ~3 ft long, split with a hole to fit over the tubing... and the hole is off-center in the foam so you get alot of padding on the inside but its thin on the opposite side so it doesn't interfere with your top, etc. IIRC, available in different colors :D Look up roll bar padding in one of those catalogs/on-line stores... :coffee:

You can see it in this pic

Here it is in blue, shows the offset well

Here's a link to the page... $3.99 per section :)

I wish those would fit. I have the same roll bar as MOP. It's 3" steel tube. The only thing I've found to fit is cold water pipe lagging. I've only found it in black w/ specs lettered running the length of it. Not very pretty. May try a can of vinyl/upholstery paint.:v6:

I was thinking I needed to head to a plumbing supply to find something....thanks for the heads-up.

I am not too fond of the 3" tubing. I've read that it is weaker; seems to make sense. I am not too concerned about the strength, but it is unnecessarily bulky.

I got the bar/cage for free, basically, and I know it provides more protection than my old sport bar.

I have a guy who is going to connect a front hoop and spreaders to sport bar you gave me, and tie it all to the frame...will let y'all know how it went.

Same here. I was hoping it would be a place I would feel comfortable using here and there as well.
