I'm doing new shoes, drums, bearing etc. on 1961 CJ. I have a re-print of the original "service manuel" that says SOME models have the short shoe facing to the rear. Teh Jeep re-builders book by Moses Ludell says the short shoe faces the rear and has pictures showing it that way. The current and old shoes have the short shoe facing the front.
How many opinions out there on where the short shoe should go?:?
