Somewhere during the engine rebuild on my 304, I lost the dipstick tube and bracket. I found a dipstick and tube replacement at 4wd hardware, but it didn't come with a bracket. Any ideas on where to score a bracket?

Wrecking yard or fabricate one. It's just a piece of sheet metal with two holes in it...one for the dip stick and another for the valve cover bolt.

Maybe this helps if you want to fabricate one. Print the photo, blow it up until it's two inches long and then cut it out for a template.

Well, I found the bracket, just forgot what it looked like. Can I just bend a generic dipstick tube to make it fit? Do you use some gasket sealer or anything like that to seal the hole? Once again, thanks for helping with all my questions.
