    Hi,

I've used Pettit products on my boat projects. It's good stuff. Reasonable price, great results. Anyone ever use it on a jeep? It seems like it might be a good option. In my use with it on boats, it has held up well to UV, general abuse (including flex in the hull), and resists chemicals. Can go on metal, fiberglass, and wood. My experience with it has mainly been on wood - for waterline strips, etc. (which is the hardest material in boating to keep a nice finish on - unless you never use the boat. but mine gets regualr use.)

Thought I'd ask before I spray my ecj5 tub with it.

I've also used interlux on boats. pretty much the same results in my experience.

Pettit and Interlux Brightside are both one part polyurethanes, and are both pretty much the same I think. A lot of people have painted their cars with Interlux paint...you can read about a lot of them in the "roller paint job" thread here:

    http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=3492965&Main=2655425#Post3492965

That's the second "chunk" of it (80 pages long). A few people have discussed using Pettit, but I don't remember hearing from anyone who's actually used it. Lots of Brightside users though. The results are good...looks just like a single stage acrylic enamel. The guys in that thread are using it because it can be applied with a roller...although I think there are a few guys who've sprayed it. There's certainly no reason you couldn't paint a Jeep with it.

Yes, I've used petit paint on my jeep, I started with their metal primer then two coats of "dull dead grass" only I put mine on with a brush....the way ALL good paint jobs should be!! Has held up well....30 years plus (needed a few touch ups though) !!
