This is my first experience with CJ's so please forgive these silly questions.

Can 31's fit on a stock 79 CJ5 ? Reason I ask is my wifes 5 came with 31's and has a nice stance. But its a bit too tall for her to get in. If they are not stock I may search out some stock springs. Probably one of the few that would want to actually lower a jeep R)

Another reason for lowering is we may slightly downsize the tires to a 30X9.5o The brakes in it are non power and it really sucks. Figured less tire weight should increase stopping power. Here is a pic http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17959&d=1179880950 Thanks

Yes, 31s would be fine with factory springs, as would the 30s.

You have drums all around? I thought that disks were standard by '79. You should be able to find all the parts you need to convert to power brakes.

Any thoughts of adding a pair of factory entry steps?
