I think the previous owner "filled" the gaps for the shovel and axe on the pass. side body under door. Before i start tearing up paint, is there a way to tell if they still exsist by looking from the inside? I can't tell by looking from the inside if any metal was replaced.(there are other spots that I can see so the fabricator wasn't that awesome) What are some ideas? Thanks

If they used Bondo for filler, you can check with a magnet. It won't stick where there is any significant bondo.

Didn't even think of that thanks...I tried it and where the magnet does seem so not stick so hard looks way to thin for there to have been the spaces, I'm gonna have to research some pictures to get the exact area. But great idea though...

The indents on a WWll jeep are on the left and M38 on the right. Where the body creases is where the two horizontal indents should be. Yes you can feel that from the inside.

Maybe a full side replacement panel was used that did not have the indents.
As mentioned in the previous reply different years have dents or not. I think I have heard of people using different year full side replacement body panels so they get the dents on both sides which makes the body stronger. So I am sure you could put panels with no dents on each side as well.
