I stumbled on some great stuff that seems to be working well in my knuckles. Don't know if anyone else has posted this already; couldn't find it in the search. It is called Bentonite Grease. It is used in some small lawnmower hydrostatic transmissions. It is basically gear lube mixed with Bentonite. The stuff I got is manufactured by Tecumesh and comes in a one quart squeeze bottle. The parts guy claims that it will not corrode metals, and it will not leak. He says their trans don't even use seals, just the bentonite. A one quart bottle cost me $13 at the local lawn mower parts store.

Interesting. I know that GM Saginaw manual steering box grease will work also. haven't tried to get it at the FLAPS yet though.
