Green Hell...the Never Ending Project

Good week-end of trail. A good friday night from 8pm to 2am. Good trail on saturday. Really impressed with the set-up. TSL's tire are just a beast in our muddy/rock trail.

Ended up washing it up a little since trail were muddy. Easier the clean under the jeep when it's on the trailer.

 

Little update on my 5.3 set-up.

My inital alternator relocation kit is not the best kit. It dont hold the alternator very well on the engine, and it use a bender to give the belt tension.




I wish i had order the goat build kit back them. They provive a solid mount on the engine with 5 bolts holding the bracket. Also it also came with a tentionner, so no more need to ajust belt tension.




So its installed, just need to find the correct belt lenght....

 

I remember myself this week how i hate finding the right belt lenght....

I had to try 7 different lenght to get the perfect one....

 

So this week-end was our annual hill drag contest. This year we went with a new track layout involing a curve.

Have to say i have smoke everyone except an old SUbaru Impreza. I won 22 out of 26 races. I won first place in the V8 and i went third on the Open class (only beaten by that subaru).

Forgot to mention, i almost ended with body work to do....

You have to gave some way before the corner but i missed the spot. Ended jumping on a rock and landing in the corner....

 

I bet the corner worker thought about moving his Toyota after that!

 

I think that is who he was racing against.

 

Ahh yes, now I see the second lane.

 

Out of 5 race, it was the only time the toyota beat me ahah

 

It's so nice to see some one build something and not be afraid of flogging it. Great job.

 

Jeep has been build to substain such hard beating i would say. This year it was the 26th time i'm taking her out to play with.

Hello its me again….

always something you want to improve, but this one is a major but a ending one for the mechanical part of the jeep.

Got the dana 300 on the bench waiting for some part to get in. Plan is to swap out the dana 20 for the 300. Main goal is improvement on strenght and getting the 2.62:1 ratio on the low speed.


Part for the transfert include
Th350 to dana 300 adapter from adavance adapter
Twin stick and new shift rail from advance adapter
New slide ring and heavy duty spring and ball for the twin stick from JB conversion
Short rear output 32 spline from novak adapter
And a complete rebuilt kit from novak adapter along a new forged intermediate gear shaft.

The Ls love playing in the snow.

I know where i will be able to use the extra gear with the dana 300. Below 3000rpm that engine is struggling. Also im missing some power in second gear. Pretty sure it will solve that issues

 

Love the effect of the green rock light.

they dont bling you has white one do. Also pratical when walking around the jeep

 

Part start to come in.

So far i've received the rebuilt kit for the dana 300, the rear output shaft and the correct yoke to get on the flange. Still waiting the adapter and twin stick kit from advance adapter

 

Look's to be Pretty Wet Snow Plowing stuff there , eh ? COLD too. Fun pushin' those rigs hard , eh ? Keep stay'n young there, kiddo & thanks for showin' us that.

 

Had a little accident this week-end. Everyone is ok dont worry

Damage is very limited (i'm lucky). Windsheild frame was bend a little. I have put it back straight yesterday. I also have a small repair to do on the top.
