Cleanest 1984 Cj Spotted

Saw this in Cottonwood when about to have breakfast. Original owner! Original paint, decals and interior.

 

Look between the seats in the last picture and you can see which activity he was off to participate in.

Sadly, having that Ruger .22 pistol in the Hunter holster laying in the center consul is not legal in California.

 

If that pistol is on his carry permit, it is completely legal.

 

Possibly but IIRC, a pistol on your concealed carry permit needs to be concealed?

There is no law stating that a carry permit pistol needs to be concealed on your person. It would not have been visible until Stakebed asked to see in side the vehicle and take a picture. At that point they were engaged in friendship and conversation. As long as the rest of the public could not see the weapon there is no issue. We do not know the pistols location prior to the picture either. It may have been placed there as the owner entered the vehicle. It is perfectly lawful to drive a vehicle with a carry weapon sitting on the console as long as it is out of view of the public, which it was until Stakebed snapped a picture.
Now, those exposed long guns and their proximity to the ammunition that goes in them could possibly get the owner in trouble. In CA a long gun in a case with ammunition stored in the same case is considered loaded; even though there is no ammunition in the weapon itself.
That said.... where Stakebed saw this individual is a very small town...... it would take a "recently transplanted" officer from a urban location to give him any hassle.

 

Especially during hunting season.

There is also a survivor CJ8 in town with the same color configuration. Original owner still drives it as well.
