I installed Duffers disc brake modification to my Belleview winch. John, a few years back, posted pictures of his disc brake modification to the Belleview winch he had mounted on his 3B. It was something I wanted to do so I contacted John and asked if he would update his pictures which had been beat up by photo bucket. He did and I proceeded to do this:

    Thanks John for your help.

Probably so. If you look on the web, a disc brake upgrade for the D18 can be found without much difficulty.

I picked up a parking brake handle at the local pick-in-pull. Using that along with the master cylinder I aquired when purchasing the other parts, l am building the the brake MC assembly. The assembly will be mounted between the seats. By using the parking brake handle, I can lock the brake or control at a preset speed how slowly I let out the cable.

The brake rotor I used can be purchased from either OMB Warehouse Brake Rotor, 7 1/8" X 3/16" Steel or at ARC Racing which had a faster delivery 3150 Brake Rotor, 7 1/8" X 3/16" Steel

The caliper I used I purchased off of eBay. At the time I wasn't quite sure how I exactly wanted to mount the caliper with respect to it's foundation. Therefore, I purchased the left/right pair as apposed to buying an individual caliper. The cost difference was negligible. I found a premade 86" long brake hose on ebay also so I purchased it. It may or may not work out as the length is close to what I need. 86" STAINLESS BRAIDED HYDRAULIC BRAKE HOSE LINE SCOOTER ATV DIRT BIKE GO KART | eBay

I also purchased this inexpensive master cylinder. I figured it would work well for setting up and testing the brake system. I can easily upgrade to a better MC as needed.

I finally found the time to finish the brake upgrade. I changed my plan as to where I originally had planned to locate the master cylinder. I decided to locate it along side the left front inner fender. I built a small foundation for the M/C and bolted it to the frame. To actuate the brake, I used my brake pull cable which I mounted to the left lower corner of the dashboard.

Very nice... wish I had read this, we were simultaneously building the same thing with the same parts, haha.

How about an update to your mod, is there anything you would do differently or purchase instead.

So far everything is good. Nothing to update. I can't think of anything that I would do differently.
