Had a couple drips out of the clutch slave in the 3B after the Rubicon. Messed with it, 2 days later it puked its guts out on the floor. Can't figure out why...

Installed the axle shafts and 11” backing plates on the flanged 44 that is slated to go under the 3B. Tired of walking around it in the garage. Gotta put the thick cover on it, fill it and move it to somewhere else in the garage.

On the ‘71, I purchased Brennan’s kit for the 2100 carb. Mine must be different because my vent tubes are taller and have a much smaller ID than what his parts are made for. So I made a bubba kind of plug for the one vent tube and installed his special top plate gasket. I’ll try to drive it this week and see what happens on the street.

Making layout pattern for drilling my drums.

I started spraying rust prevention on the frame today and getting ready to roll the rear axle under it. Waiting for the parts for the rear spring hanger to get here.

Yes! You were on your way to a wedding. How did the motor end up looking inside?

It looked really good actually, but I ended up getting it rebuilt in 2020. The machinist bored it .030, although I don't think it really needed it. He said there was some pockmarks in the cylinder bore.

I need to find someone with at least a little experience in starting an engine the first time so I don't blow it up on day 1, but I'll definitely send you pictures when it's running!

Nearing completion on the CJ2. Things I know I have to do that I can remember.

1)finish cleaning up the bumper and paint it. The previous owners welded a bunch of crap to the original bumper. I can get a reman bumper for 125 dollars........but it's 125 dollars, lol. I really just need to spend a day with the grinder, leveling everything back off on it.

2)needs a windshield. I honestly plan on no top and mostly windshield down work, so this isn't a high priority.

3)needs at least one rearview mirror. The driver's side has a tab for this purpose, I just need to pick up a cheap mirror.

4)alignment. Not a huge deal, not much you can adjust anyway.

5)install drive shafts. I'm just waiting for the u-joint u-bolts to come in to NAPA, and I'll have the back one in.

6)put new U-Joints in the front drive shaft. It's a salvage shaft, the slip yoke has no play, but the u-joints are shot.

7)Low priority, but I want the old school "meep meep" horn.

8)Seats. Waiting on the upholstery shop. He sent me a picture the other day. The front two were finished, and he was waiting to start on the rear seat.

9)seatbelts. Waiting on seats to get here, so I know where to put the belts. It'll be lap belts only, but this thing wouldn't have had factory belts in it, so I've got no existing holes to install them into.

10)put skid plate back on after getting the Drive shafts in.

    I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things.

Yeah. There's a place here that can come install it for me for about 150 dollars. I've got the gasket and all that needed to put it in. Plus seats, I got the tail light in the wrong spot as well. But I think this specific tail light won't fit in the top hole like the old one.

Bough a 2speed 17” electric fan from Summit. Shroud is 16.75 x 20”. Just inside the radiator mounting rails and a bit tall. So tonight I chopped it up a bit and I think it will work perfectly.

I chopped it off and used rivets to put the bottom of the shroud back on.

    Used a hole saw here.

Threw some scraps in this corner.

Kit came with angle brackets so I put them in my vice and bent into a Z.

I’ll get a chance over the weekend to finish the installation. Fan control by my Holley Sniper and a couple relays . ( I hope)

It’s never easy!! I need an inch!!
this 231 had the long water pump so we changed that out yesterday. Today I got the fan nicely mounted to the radiator. Slide it in and No Go. Needs another inch. What do y’all say is the easiest way to get an inch between the radiator and the motor?

Use an intermediate CJ5 Grill that should do it.
