Ds Spare Mount

    So...... per my usual, I want to mount my spare on the rear Drivers side of my '75 CJ5. The 1st pic of the Factory side has the box & the Hat channel, But the 2nd pic of the DS has the box. and this hat channel support ?
    Do ya'll think that I could custom reinforce between the inner tub well and the outside with pipe / spacer / backing plate ?

    Don't drill through that nice paint. I'm sure you could reinforce the tub to hold up. Either put the spare in behind the drivers seat or hang it off the back on a hinged carrier.
    Just my opinion. If the tire is behind you you wont leave it on a tree.

    buy a bumper/tire carrier set up . or build one
