You got a center pin that make sure you are centered

    276950028_740192326987249_323363586348754894_n.jpg

You need to put the race. The puller is pulling the bearing cage so with the cup it hold all the bearing together

First time setting a new ring and pignon. I'm way out of the off the ballpark.

I made myself some dummy bearing so i can make ajustement easier.

Still need to out the pignon depth.

Got a good improve last night

I went from 0.040 to 0.025 them 0.060 to finish to 0.095 on pignon depth. I am on the tight side of the backlask with a 0.006".

Been suggested to had a 0.003-0.005" to see if it can be more centered. Otherwise other told me that i can close it on those spec

Does that make the readings more accurate? Or just easier to read? Just wondering why.

    Happy FEF to everybody.

Front end is almost complete. I had re work the ram assist articulation.
Now i'm about to fill up with gear oil the front axle. And put the wheel back.

Next step is the rear gear. At least is not the same amount of work to get to the carrier as the front is ahah

That looks like a stout axle!
How come both knuckles have 2 holes for the steering & tie rods? Is that just how the dana 44 front axles are made? Or am I seeing the drivers side wrong?

    Keep up the good work!

This dana 44 is coming from inter scout 2. I dont know why they have two hole on the driver side...good question there.

Also scout arm are near the height of a dana 44 hi steer.

Front axle is done. Now time to attack the rear.

It will be an easy re-gear on the rear. I have use the same pignion depth for starting point, only have to set a proper backslash. I almost felt bad getting proper ajustment on the first trial....

I hope so. We will work the race track for next year snow drag so we wont be jumping all around like this year. Planning to participate to a mud drag even a the end of may but it will not involve any jump ahah :p
