I need a little help on this T-98A. I believe it is from a Jeep 715.
How hard to adapt it to a 225 V-6?
The input shaft length is about 9.5 inches and 1.25 inch diameter
I'll get more photos if necessary.
    Thanks

The biggest hurdle with aT98 taken from an M715 is the mainshaft. It does not have the required main shaft. You will need a more suitable Jeep version of the T98 just to acquire the proper main shaft.
And there are 3 other somewhat lesser problems.

Yes. There is a driveshaft between the transmission and transfer case. Not really suitable for conversion of a CJ-5. Also uses some oddball massive NewProcess transfer case, not suitable for a CJ.

Unless I were running a L134 or F134, I would steer clear of the T-98 entirely. Both old and oddball. The T-98 in a J-truck or Wagoneer was used with the 230, 232 and 327 V8. Some FCs got the T-98 with the 226. These all (except maybe the FC) came with the Texas pattern Dana 20. You might be able to adapt the 327 T-98 to a 225. Maybe. You'd need access to a machinist or machine shop, I'd think.

Right unless you have the proper 6 spline 1-3/8” mainshaft your never going to mate any T98 to a D18/20.
The only T98’s having the correct mainshaft required are IH and Jeep’s that were previously mated to D18/20’s.
Then you also need a Jeep not an IH rear adapter plate.
In general the T18 is a much better candidate for Dauntless mating.
For L/F134’s I prefer the T98 but prefer the T18 for retrofit with all other engines.

Ford T18 will still required you to locate an IH or Jeep mainshaft plus you need a Jeep rear adapter plate. IMHO the Ford T18 front will adapt ok but I don’t consider it ideal.
For Dauntless I prefer to use the short BOP bellhousing mated to a customized Jeep T18.
The Jeep T18 case needs to have the front bolt pattern modified (ears welded) to fit the BOP pattern.
Also you need the short Jeep maindrive gear. (Input)
Then it becomes a direct fit to GM patterns

Novak also sells an adapter kit with the needed main shaft and adapter plate. Probably more expensive but much easier to find than 50 year OEM Jeep/IH parts: https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/adapters/transmission-to-transfer-case/t18-t19-to/kit-188/

They also sell a pre-machined front bearing retainer and pilot bushing for mounting the GM bellhousing to the front of the transmission: https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/adapters/engine-to-transmission/gm/ford-to-gm/

That's the route I went. I hope to get this heavy thing installed in the Jeep in the next month or so:

The transfer case will be a Dana 300 so an adaptor was pretty much a given. It's for a CJ-6, so length is not too big of a concern. I am just collecting parts for the future project right now and will grab the best options as they show up.
    Thanks again.

I adapted a Ford into my CJ years ago. This was pre internet and so I had to figure it out myself.

The issues were the input bearing retainer needed to be turned down to index the BOP bellhousing. I also needed to turn the transmission input snout back since the Ford input was a tad too long. I turned it to accept the stock GM pilot which kept everything stock.

Lastly, I had to fill the webbing on the bottom of the bell. I cheated and drilled and tapped the transmission casing on the bottom to accept the two bottom bellhousing mounting bolts, which I screwed in from the inside.

I used a Scout mainshaft and t case adapter to complete the conversion.

I was too lazy to swap out the GM/T14 clutch disc, which is a tad too big for the Ford input (something I need to re-address).

Maybe some of this information is relevant to your conversion........
