Where did you get the grill to hood welt and the correct clips?

Thanks... Yeah it was a bit high. After I mocked it up... sleep on it twice. Then measured again and bit the bullet. Cutting Torches are Great for this type of work ! ;)

I think Walcks. https://walcks4wd.com/. Search there. If you don't see them let me know. I can look back into my notes/receipts and confirm where. Technically for '74 it should be Black. But when you order you either get the olive drab or black. I got the Olive Drab. I plan on taping it all off and using a black die to correct the color. But other then color it is spot on, even the clips!

Ok...final pics, then onto the next project...I'm thinking an FC-170 Resto-Mod, Dually, Extended frame, LS or Duramax, Tweed & leather interior, Hydro Roll-back Stake bed, killer sounds! Did I mention Tweed interior...;) What better way to haul the jeep around!

    Nice!
If you can, please take it out to an area where it's off road with evergreen tree's in the background for additional pictures.
The color contrast will be awesome...calendar quality picture. (y)

Do you have a better picture of the trans tunel floor cover? I'm trying to find one but they all look different. Ive seen some that the hole for the D20 looks like it wont fit, Then I've seen others that dont have any extra holes on the left. Did you reused the one that came with it or did you have to look for one?

I'm guessing since this is a '74 it must be the same for the '75

Not necessarily. My '75 and I believe all '75s have the same floor panels that earlier CJs have, except they are spot-welded in to become a 1-piece floor. No more removable panels, foreshadowing the floor stamped as 1 piece in the 1976 model.

If your Jeep was built for export, it might be different. Unlikely IMO.

The cover directly over the transmission and the ring around the transfer case shifter boot are removable.

There are a bunch of pictures of my '75 here which you can look through - https://www.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/~reese/ResizedJeepIPics/ It's a good near-100%-original example.

    Here's a pretty good picture -

Hey Papote... Yes I reused the original. 95% of the jeep is original. The only picture I have of those covers are back on Page 1 or 2 where I had everything powder coated. I've cropped it and numbered the three parts that make up the cover. The Tub has multiple 'covers' too that make up the whole transmission tunnel. #1 is the main cover. #2 holds the T-Case rubber boot and screws to the side of #1 and into the tub. #3 is the Trans rubber boot. If you need better pics, I'll be home in a week and soon taking the transmission out again to finally fix it's leaks (again). So can take more pics if you need them. 794A3A29-CDAB-4B49-9747-7BE000BA7C41_1_105_c.jpeg

Guess this is the best one I have on hand....not sure if you are talking about the yellow covers or the black cover. But there are other pics in the build pages that show the body tub / tunnel panels.

Yellow covers specifically without the black ones installed. I wanted to see the hole for the Dana 20. I'm looking at getting a replacement but look like the hole isn't made for a D20; in the end I could just open it and it will be hidden by the boot but I wanted to make sure. Also the replacement that im looking at doesn't have any of the holes to the left, I think the only hole it has is for the shifters

Nope. That was just a pic during the restoration... Hadn't put it on yet when pic taken. Thanks though for asking. Papote I'll take a pic when I drop the transmission with the cover off.

Been about a year or so since I posted. But wanted to post this on this thread for any future CJ-rs looking at my thread. I found and restored (paint and new hinge) an aftermarket "Intermediates" center console. It only fits Intermediates. Hinged 'lid' that lifts up and has a rather large inside area (the entire lower half). The long and short of what I know. I saw this console in pics on several different CJs all from the south and all either 74s or 75s. Spent about two years trying to find one. My speculation is that this console was a dealer option from Hinkley's in South Carolina. Saying this only because each jeep I saw a pic of this console in, was from the NC/SC/GA/TN area. Saw about 5 jeeps online with this console. So guess it's rare. Last month I came across this console in a jeep on FB that was for sale in Charleston SC. Talked the owner into selling me just the console. That jeep was purchased originally at Hinkley. I've included the original pic that peaked my interest in this console (red/white jeep). I found it on the web. It's a 'barn find' Super Jeep. Any information on this console please add...It has no part number or manufacture stamped on it. So outside the Pics I've seen of it and this actual one I now have, I know nothing about it.

And my next update post... I put together a nice stereo. For all the audio guys out there who also drive CJs...here's what I did. All JL-Audio just because I really like JL-Audio. No holes cut in anything. Only wanted my iPhone as the "Head Unit". Both Bluetooth and direct line connect. Would not recommend this set up for jeeps that get into the mud and water. JL .75" Tweeters, 6.5 Mids, 10" JL Sub in box (under rear seat). JL DSP Amp. Love the DSP and tuned it on my Mac. Really Great sound, even without top and driving 65. I'll eventually build a small fiberglass panel around the amp so it hides all the wiring. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Thanks... Sounds better than it looks too!

Way past the seat latch part of things... Jeep is done. You'll have to go back several pages to find the seat stuff. Good luck on your '75.

Just went through all your pics from start to finish. I appreciate you taking all of them as I am about 2 years into my full rebuild of my 73 and have used many of your pictures for reference. I am just about ready to put the engine back into the frame and mount the trans/transfer case. Couple of quick questions. Did you buy the exhaust system or have it made at a shop? I am also using stock exhaust manifolds. I wasn't sure when in the process to have that done because I thought maybe a shop would need the body installed for proper routing, etc. Second strange question, if you look from the side or back with your trans in neutral would you say that your shift knob is about even with the top of the speedometer? It appears that way in the picture. I have to fab up a shift lever and wasn't sure about the exact length and if you have any shift issues due to the lever being too long or too short. Thanks and really great work.
