I was wondering if anybody who has a 4 inch lift can post some pictures and let me know what lift they have and how it performs

4" is a lot on an early CJ. A lot of us here have lifts in the 2.5" range, which allows 33" tires with enough room for some articulation.

I have a 4" lift, 1" body lift and 35's. I clearanced the rear wheel well opening for the tires. Its too much lift. At some point the leverage on the stock axles with large tires will break the axles/shafts/etc.. Also it just gets really tall with no advantage.

2.5" is just right. You couldn't pay me to have a 4" lift.

I just realized you have a thread about 2.5" springs too.

    I know it’s not a 5, but my 3b has a custom spring-over that nets about 4” of lift, sitting on 33s.

Judging from the hieght of your rear tire to bed floor, it seems like your 4" lift look very close to the same height as my 2.5" lift:

Where’s that recent pic of @tomasinator ’s white jeep? That has a 4” set on it.

Wow - look at the arch on that front spring. And steps. What are those, 35s? I presume that the owner wants to clear those tires.

Yeah I created a post about the 2.5 inch lift. Figured I would inquire about the 4 to read people's thoughts and opions

That's the problem with a big SUA lift, too much arch and bent main leaves. And you get a little tipsy with that high COG, if you keep stock width.

I have 3 1/2" lift springs with a 1 1/4 body lift on 33" tires. These springs are really soft. I thought it would be too high, but it's really stable.

It looks great, and obviously not too high. Sometimes they settle down.

Had a 4" superlift on my 73 with a wp warrior reverse shackle I ran 32" tsl sx's and later 33 coopers. I drove it everywhere. From Missouri to moab and from moab all over colorado trails and then back home. It was fine. Never any issues. trying to at least regain the drivability on my cj5 to cj6 conversion on it.

Aren’t those Old Man Emu springs though? Apples and Oranges compared to other less expensive springs.
Mine have been on order for almost 3 months and supposed to be in at the end of this month.

2.5” YJ springs. I’ll bet it’s close to 4” on CJ springs.

It did settle after I installed them.

This is when I first installed them. You can see the shackle position.

Just out of curiosity what is the arch height of stock springs? When I ordered my springs back in the day I though they were 4" lift but now i'm wondering if they are 2.5" springs. I run 33's on what I though were 4" springs with at least 1.5" body lift and I don't seem to have a ton of arch.
