Flywheel Surface Rust

    i picked up this 225 v6 and when i pulled it apart it looks like it had a new clutch installed and a turned flywheel. But it has been sitting for a little bit and has surface rust now. Should i wipe it down or will the first use of the clutch take care of the problem?

    I'd sand it down a little and clean it up with some solvent but I bet doing nothing would work just as well.

    Hit it with an orbital or DA sander to remove the rust and give it a non-directional
    Pattern. Will go a long way to keep the disc from being contaminated and keep stuff from sticky g together.
