How Much Does My Jeep Weigh?

I'm just going to say this: go get it weighed.
Asking somebody what your vehicle weighs with them having no idea doesn't really make sense to me.

you could Google your year jeep model for factory weight, but that again would just be a guess.

 

Two center facing couches in rear fold down into a large bed. Then the upper bunk lowers from the ceiling. The upper bunk has a 300lb capacity. So 4kids back there and the table makes a bed for 2. One queen size bed in front.
You would never want to go camping with 8 people in this camper unless you had a “everyone outside” rule. As soon as you wake up you must go outside.
It’s going to be perfect for Cynthia and I with an occasional guest.

Lacking that, people can and do continue to believe all kind of foolishness.

 

There are very similar V6 Jeeps to mine here on the site. I only need an close number. On my first post I described the Jeep. NorCal69 then gave me the weight of a very similar Jeep. That’s exactly what I needed.

and it’s not really possible to weigh mine just now.

 

I could never figure out how these camper manufactures do the math on how people can sleep in some units

Scott this should do it, got a 12,000lb tow capacity, all you need is a car trailer. The plant is right up the road from you in Alabama. All you got to do is sign on the dotted line.

 

Knowing we would be putting a muddy CJ5 in it, we looked for used Toy Haulers. Eventually bought a moderately used 25' 2006 Forest River Sandpiper. It was the shortest trailer we could find with 13' interior space. Carrying Capacity of 2500 lbs. I fold the windshield down to load it, otherwise there is about an inch clearance either side between the windshield and the upper cabinets.

It's worked real well for the two of us and our 2 dogs. Have beds for 7 but it would be hard to get from the bunks to the bathroom without crawling over someone if they were all made out. Used to camp in a ClassB van, flat towing the Jeep. Much better accommodations now. Currently have the trailer loaded with the Jeep, a Miller welder, Cherry Picker and various other can't leave it behind crap as we leave to make our first trip moving to Oklahoma. Hopefully, by March we can have our house sold and make the final trip with our furniture. Gonna miss the Jeep for the next few months.

A buddy of mine has an enclosed 16' trailer he uses to transport his built Samurai to the trails. He recently added some fold down bunk beds to the walls so he could just sleep in it. After a couple trips he recently purchased a toy hauler very similar to mine. Hard to beat having a bathroom and kitchen to camp in. Plus toy haulers usually have generator and big fresh and grey tanks for camping off grid.

 

Is there a trail rated 6 wheel drive option?

 

Rolled over some scales the other day.
3200lbs in full trail prep. Driver, full fuel and a Jerry can, tool box, cooler, bikini top.

I'm 175lbs and the toolbox is heavy i'ld bet it could be down to 2800lbs if unloaded.

 

I built my own toy hauler out of a 18' V-nose cargo trailer. It is a heavy duty H&H that can haul over 7000 lbs and the ramp handles 4000 lbs. I have a flip up queen bed, shower, apartment sized fridge, cook top, cassette toilet, sink and mini split heat pump/AC. Pulls like a dream.

 

Sure you can weigh that. Just need a set of wheel scales. Very handy item.
