Okay so your not really going to win anything, but you will (ok may) impress your friends! If nothing else you will be helping me out ;) I'll start out easy and work my way up to the real questions I need help with.
So I did an original search based on the VIN and it didn't seem to match the title which is 1969? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I checked block ID and found OF225 but what do you all think? [IMG] [IMG] Front and rear ends, trans, t.c.? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I did drive it many years back and if I recall the trans was sync in all three forward speeds.

I can't see your pictures. Are you hosting them somewhere and trying to hot link? You should be able to drag and drop your pictures into the forum if they aren't huge. Something like 800x600 is fairly large and accepted by the forum.

A '69 should have a T-14 3-speed transmission with all forward gears synchronized. The transfer case is a Dana 18. The axles will be a closed-knuckle Dana 27 in the front, and a Dana 44 with tapered/nutted axle shafts in the rear. Both axles should match in ratio, and have tags that give the Jeep part number (typically 9xxxxx), a tooth count like "41 11" and a ratio. The available ratios with the V6 were 3.73:1 and 4.88:1. The rear axle could have a limited slip differential (LSD) and if so equipped, should have a tag that says "use limited slip additive" or something like that.

The transmission and transfer case should have tags too, but maybe not so easy to see. They will have a Jeep PN too, and some other description or manufacturer's number.

Yea I am combing thru other posts in an attempt to figure the pics thing out. I was trying to save them direct to the CJ sit like I did the very first picture I posted but I was not successful. Unfortunately I'm not that good with the tech. Maybe my wife will help if I fix the dishwasher-
Thanks for the info timgr, you guys are a wealth of information. I'm eager to see what you all think about my firing problem.
    Cheers-

I'm also computer tech challenged, took me years to figure out how to post pics here.

If you are doing this on a computer/laptop/iPad etc. there are many freeware applications that resize your pictures. I use PIXresizer - PIXresizer

Like it should for a '69. Offset Dana 44 rear axle, which is offset to work with the offset rear output of your Dana 18 transfer case. Looks like factory 5-leaf rear springs, typical for the standard suspension package in this era.

Delco distributor (that's what you want). The little metal door opens to adjust the points. Can't tell much more from that.

Dana 27 front axle. Both the front and rear axles have a tag you could read if you get under there and look. Looks like 9 (?) front leaves. I would expect 7 to go with the rear 5, but there were lots of different suppliers and leaf counts. The fronts and esp. the rears look rather flat. Expected of factory springs from 1969. It would ride better and stand taller with new springs.

Rear springs look aftermarket to me.
Leaves are too thick for factory.

Haven't we been through this before Jim?

The 5-leaf rear springs are factory. These came off my CJ-6:

Discussed here: Stock replacement leaf springs. Seems you weren't involved with this post.

Rochester 2GC (2-barrel) carburetor with manual choke.

Looks like your (bypassed) heater hose is acting as a makeshift throttle reducer. That's some major interference there.

you nailed it Hellion, the linkage interference is ridiculous, next on the list. Then it is a carb rebuild, new gasket (serious leak) and new choke cable. Timgr, the distributor is correct? (Note: This is the beginning of my upcoming question regarding timing, but Im thinking I will start a separate thread for that one. Check out the location of #1, Blue. lobes on the dist. drive look to be odd time right?) The current cap is very loose on the body. May just need a new cap as one side the internal spring is sprung. Source? I just ordered a headlight switch from keiser williys.

I text the pictures to myself, which automatically resizes them, then put those in my posts.

I am able to resize my photos when drafting a reply and selecting them from my files.

    - click “upload a file”
    - Then click “choose file” then “photo library”
    - Then click “actual size” at the bottom and it will pull up smaller size options. I usually select “medium”

you can also select whether you want the image to be a “thumbnail” (needs to be clicked on to make bigger) or a “full image” that can be seen without the need to expand.

This is the part that I am most interested in. Timgr seemed to like it for the 225, I just still wonder if it is correct or maybe just installed incorrectly. I see that there are two versions of this cap with #1 in different spots. right now it is completely missing cyl. 2,4 &6 Based on the cam it does look to be oddfire right?
I'm still reviewing old posts and doing some diagnosis before posting this question because it has been covered before, but I think I will end up needing some help-
