My daughter has won the color debate. We went ahead and ordered the hemi orange paint last week, so now we are committed. We are getting hit with a big storm today, so I took a break from block sanding. We started playing around with working up a decal to balance out the tailgate. We wanted to tie our CJ in with aviation and where we live, so we borrowed from a old civil air patrol design we saw and made it our own. I think this is what we are going to go with. We went ahead and ordered a couple to try it out.

It's been a little while since I've added any updates. I've got the Jeep back together and going again. Still have a bunch of clean up details. Also working on a full roll cage, but I have this for now.

    DAMNNNN!!!!!!! Gorgeous!
Did you clear over the Renegade striping and hood blister? They are very shiny. Also did you add the hood blister because of the Orange and how much it pops, or was it just a personal choice to add the RenII blister.

Thanks! I painted it with Imron, which is a single stage paint, so all the graphics are bare. The orange was a bit too much and needed to be broken up, so adding the center was a great way to do it. I love the center renII part. It works perfect with renI stuff on the sides of the hood. The graphics are definitely not flat, but they are not high gloss either. Somewhere in the middle.

I've been looking for lockable storage for a while. I almost started building a custom box, but I decided to get a Smittybilt securtiy storage box since the dimension were just about perfect. So far its been perfect for me. I think the only thing I'm going to change on it is the lock.

I had planned to just replace the Best Top hardware, cross bars, and doors that were destroyed in my roll over. But when I checked around for pricing, I got sticker shock and was dragging my feet. I've always liked the idea of a hardtop, but haven't seen any good complete ones around where I live. So, last week when this Meyer top popped up on craigslist, I decided to go for it. It was over a 1000 miles round trip to go get it, but the price and condition were enough temptation to make the effort. So last weekend I installed it. My wife loves it and says its the best upgrade I've made to the Jeep. I'm just glad to be able to start driving it more this winter.

Your Jeep is the one that sold me on hard tops. Wish I could have found a Kelly, but this will have to do. I'm a pilot, so the Meyer aviation link is kind of cool.

this is something you might like. i have a hardtop and had the same mirrors, but didn't like that the door would hit them and they stuck out a mile. i made some brackets that go over the hinges and like this more

Thanks! No on both of those. They were the only parts that were missing. I would really like to find the filler piece. I've got some straps coming from Amazon to try. I'm loving the hard top though. My wife and I took it on its first trip up in the mountains on Saturday. Way better than the soft top it replaced.

Here are a few pics from our trip up in the hills Saturday. My wife is a big fan of the hard top.
