New Seats

77 CJ5 4 spd

Guys I recently installed Beststop Trail Max 2 seats in my 77 Cj5. I used the stock bracket and slider. The seat sits a lot higher and closer than before. I don’t see that it can be slid back any farther.

Hey Garrett, very common response to both the bestop seats and the smittybilt seats. They seat you completely differently than stock seats.
My smitty’s are uber comfy but seat much higher.

 

I like my smitty low backs a lot, built a custom mount to get them down as low as possible.

Any new seat will seem "higher" than the OEM unit did after 50 years of butt abuse.

 

Same ones I installed in my 75 CJ. Yes they are not quite the same as OEM. I all ready had the notch, but I had to modify my seat frame.
