    Hi,
I have a jeep with 225 I recently bought that I am trying to get running. It came with HEI but running poorly. I just discovered it was Even Fire cap after meeting up with a local member [warlock] this weekend. How can I check and see if I have an even fire or odd fire housing? Trying to see if I need to get a whole new dist. or just a cap.

Under the rotor button there should be a star wheel and matching ring an even fire will have all the points aligned at the same times. An odd fire will not all align at once

Matt - post the block numbers for your engine so we can verify its an Odd Fire motor.

It is on the back of the engine between the ribs above where the bell housing mounts.
