Nice score on all the NOS parts for Hobbes, what a lucky Jeep!

I love the warning label telling the occupants the top and doors won't keep them in the Jeep. I thought that stuff didn't appear until the wide track CJ7's.

Thank you.... That is about 1/50th of what I have procured in the NOS dept over the last two years. I just never post up (bad fellow jeeper I know). I am doing a museum restoration so everything going into or onto is either NOS or repaired/refurbished used parts down to robbing nuts and bolts from my other parts jeeps.

That warning label was on the new Whitco tops that came with 74 model year cj5's as I recall while I was working at the dealership and installing the new tops for dealer prep.

That is the moment I decided I don't mind you keeping all this out of my view.

In 15years I still have a ford wheel, 2 light 16" KH, and one heavy KH. I have to keep the ford and HD on the rear or it will pull to the side.

Loaded the CJ up with some steel targets and a few guns and hit the range. After that I hit up Wal Mart and grabbed a new fire extinguisher to put in the CJ and replaced the 45 year old throttle cable and snugged down the headers.

Did a huge project on the '68 and fixed the key fob.

The '71 keeps the red/blue since it's an AMC built Jeep.

Procured over 75+ NOS parts alone during 2 years of searching, lots of forums, lots of FB groups, personal connections, pouring over photos looking for elusive parts, 100's of phone calls contacting old posts etc, ebay saved key word searches, craigslist, you name it.... All of the NOS items above are from different individuals. Some found out or heard what I was doing with the museum restoration and contacted me privately, giving up NOS items that they we're saving for themselves. Others contacted because of posts on this forum and pointed me in the right direction. Mostly just a ton of perseverance and patience on my part. Honestly without all of the help here on ecj5, I would not be in this position.

Installed new new fuel tank fill hose today. The Crown hose seems to be good quality, the fit was perfect. Sure glad we can get reproductions for those old Jeep’s.

Installed an electrical master switch yesterday.. Hid it under the dash, out of sight. Keeps the yard monkeys
from running the battery down !!

Rode it out for a biscuit and then finished my tow eyes.
    This is the beginning
    [IMG]
Bolted to the frame with a 5/8 grade 8 bolt with the frame boxed and reinforced on the outside with 1/4 plate
    [IMG]
and now welded to the bumper and added the 5/8 shackle
    [IMG]
I do need to repaint the entire bumper.:flag:

After replacing your ball joints. Be sure to pack the wheel bearings.

also be sure to use the correct grease.

Using the other red grease would surely result in grease washing away and bearings failing.

Most of your afternoon will be spent washing assembly lube out of all of the bearings and hubs. Then putting it all back together.

Don’t ask me how I know.

Overhauled the rear brakes and put fenderflares on yesterday. I resisted putting the flares on but i have to say it does look better.
