As mentioned is other posts, the car hauler needs some TLC. I have already replaced the 7 pin connector, and repaired the wiring to the electric brakes. The tires on the Pass side were replace last year, after trying to drive over a curb, fully loaded, in a wal-mart parking lot.:banghead:

So since I have a couple of months before we try this again, time to upgrade. I ordered 2 new tires for the driver side, and a kit to install brakes on the second axle. I hope to take pix of the process, but it is really simple and straight forward.

Here is a pic of the electrical conn from the trailer. It looks worse in person, the screw head is almost rotted off.

There is no continuity on the black wire to the contact on the other side.

Put some electrical grease on the connections of your new plug, some stuff called 'No-Ox-ID" is the best if you can find it.

Got to love the PA salt! By the way, check the axle tubes as well. I just replaced a 6000# axle on an equipment trailer that rotted off at the ubolts. The trailer was from the 90s.

Sounds like a boat trailer down near any salt water
