So about 2 weeks ago my throttle linkage worked its way lose from where it connects to the butterfly’s. I put it all back together the best I could , the linkage going to the choke and the linkage going to the accelerator pump. My question is now In order for me to get wide open throttle the gas petal is up as high as the brake pedal. It was not like that before and very uncomfortable to drive. Wondering if the linkage rod going to the accelerator pump is bent or Possibly an issue between the pedal assembly where it comes through the firewall.

For someone to help you may need to supply more info.

    What year & model?
    What carburetor?
Is it original in design & parts in regard to the linkage?
As best you can figure is it just out of adjustment or ?
Need to supply pictures of linkage in question?

You should be able to open the butterfly all the way then adjust the linkage out so the pedal is darn near the floor.

Your correct I can do that but when I let off the pedal ends up as high as or higher than the brake and clutch pedal. Is that the normal position?

Maybe the cam on the choke was installed upside down during reassembly? The pivot is not concentric to the rod hole.

If its the way you described it, you should be able to extend or retract the threaded portion of the throttle linkage to raise or lower the gas pedal. More pictures might help us here

So I found out i apparently have some sort of after market Rochester 2g. It’s similar but not exactly the same I’m
Missing a bracket according to the picture above and my accelerator pump linkage is different. I’m picking up a parts Jeep in a few days and it has the original 2 g on it. So I should be able to swap some of the parts onto mine.

I used to get super jealous any time I'd drive my dad's 3b or brother's 2a because of their floor mounted pedals. They are so much nicer to drive. So last year I bent my linkage around and modified it a little bit to attach a floor pedal. One of the simplest and nicest things I've done on the whole jeep. Unless you're committed to staying all original I'd recommend it. There are some old links in this forum that helped me figure it out.

That bracket pictured can be hard to find.
Most folks forget to take it off if they replace their carburetor and it's lost on the core carb.
