I'm sure there's a link out there that I haven't found yet but I have a 65 CJ5 that I want to restore completely. I would really like to get some pics on what an original 65 looked like so I can get an idea of a game plane. So many people on here are into or have completed their resto projects...where did you get your pics to work from? anyone have pics of their 65 they'd like to share with me? Especially all 4 sides and some of the dash and interior???

As always y'all are great and appreciate the patience on this newbe!!!

Greevesman's looks quite correct, except for the tail lights and the windshield mounted mirror. The lights should be Black painted Hall 701's, and surface mounted just above the lower body edge, and the mirror should be smaller, though the bracket is correct. I also believe the left side mirror should have a longer arm (16"?) I don't mean to pick on Greevesman's Jeep, but there are a few non- original items. Overall, It looks like a really nice original example. He also has a very nice 1/3-2/3 bench seat which was a option.
    Features to look for on late-'64 through early-'66 are;
No battery lid cover on the cowl
Top bow sockets on the rear corners
Snorkel blanking cover on right side of hood
Anber cone shaped front signal lights
Spin-on (bypass type) oil filter on top of engine
No "Willys" on the raised plate on the tailgate
Cold air scoop in grill opening
35 amp Motorola alternator w/fender mounted regulator
    Colors available year by year

This range of years have substantially identical features.

    Go to >>>Historical Photo Archives
and scroll down to the '65 tux pics

Also, I believe this to be a promotion shot of a 1966 (not a tux)

I grew up with a '64 Tuxedo Park my dad bought new in '65. I became its owner in '76 and still have it today, though it has been very modified several times over.
In the past few years on this forum, I've been comparing running changes (like snorkel cutout, or top bow sockets) with other members here. Kaiser was continuously making minor "improvements" to the Jeeps as time went on, but they weren't necessarily based on model year. Thats why I gave a range with nearly all the same features.
Greevesman's and several others Jeeps don't have roll bars, which were not original until years later.

I fixed the tail lights to the Hall ones. I got rid of the drawbar and put on bumperettes which I know are not correct IMG_20190716_100248782.jpg

Mine's a 64..... Not sure if there were any BIG changes from 64-65. Just note, I have a 69' windshield and w/s frame. It's been restored but it's mostly original.

Things I know are different from how to left the factory but also have stayed in the spirit of keeping it "mosty" stock
    -Tires
    -W/s and wipers
    -seats
-solex carb (originally had a carter YF)
-The 2nd decal infront of the steering wheel, next to the shift pattern, is from an m38
-The airbox hose for the oil bath is from a chevy aveo and is a HUGE upgrade to the crumbly rubber OMIIX ones available now.

    Otherwise.... Pretty original.

Oh and The "4wheel drive" logo on the tailgate (I think the Kaiser 64/65 should have had the other "arched" 4wheel logo.

If you look through Beach66bum's media page, you'll see the appropriate tailgate lettering for the "4wheel drive" logo for that year. Also you'll see pics of one of the nicest examples of a Tux park out there.

Do you still have the 60/40 bench seats?!??! I've always loved those

    Thank you so much!
For my year it came with bucket seats. I wasn’t able to find a set of originals, so went with the Bestop brand low backs.

Sure is nice, I hope to see it in person someday,
You know ECJ5 should have a reunion/meet and greet sometime for all members to bring their jeeps to.
