Brake Line Protector

    Anyone have pictures of both sides of their front wheels where the brake line protectors and brake lines interact? Also looking to how the rubber and metal lines are laid out.

    I think the PO messed this up too and one was missing so I am looking to find a replacement.

    Did cj5s ever have those? I thought that was just a flat fender thing?

    I know the early CJ5's had them. I don't know when they stopped using those.

    To clarify further I meant the early one's as in '55 maybe '56 or so.

    Well my frame has shown it isn’t a CJ5 as it’s also shorter that the body needs. It’s still a mystery as I haven’t found frame numbers. Maybe this is why it’s confusing. Either case anyone with pictures. Maybe I can just do without but I will need to figure out the correct metal and rubber lines.

    the only reference I can show you is buddy's 55 cj
    different bracket but still has the S lines

    Yeah, you don't have to use the protectors, or the s lines. Walck's should have what you need for the flex hose.

    Not that I'm aware of personally, I've never had the protectors on mine.

    I've taken to remove/cut them off when I redo front brakes to Disc or 11". Mount the new tab used for the rubber hoses off the upper frame and it makes it much better, safer on the trail, and cleaner install.

    I might have pics of that from when I did the conversion on Jim's 3B last winter on the site.
