Ive been looking for a good CJ5 frame to build up... one not cracked, molested or rusted. I found one thats straight, not cracked or rusted and has the pedals and trans crossmember but it's a 6hr drive away.... 150 bucks. Would you make the drive?

Do you have a title and body? I think its much harder to find good sheetmetal than it is to find a good frame, and depending on where you live, no title can be a real hassle. Guessing there is a bit more to the context/situation that might help help clarify what you are trying to do, and how this frame would fit with your plan.

I already have a 69cj5 and have the title and body on the current one. Its running and driving just the frame is trashed from people "modding" it over the years.

Things that come to mind to think about would be related to 4cyl vs 6cyl....if its the same as yours, should be fairly easy to swap. Otherwise there would be some differences like motor mounts, possible battery tray location, transmission cross-member (t90 vs t14 vs t98) might require some work....

Mine is a 383 vortec with sm420 trans. My Jeep was a factory 6 cylinder and this frame is a 4 cylinder but I figured I could just cut the battery Box off and use my existing one on the firewall.

This is the straightest old frame ive seen. Basically untouched and not even cracked around the spring mounts. Headed home. I didn't realize just how light these frames are. Soon it will be strapped and fully boxed.
