I'm just posting this as an FYI. I bought a box of '69 parts from Nickmil and one of the reasons I bought it was the windshield washer pump I need for my '71.

The rubber on the pump is cracked and it's not likely to work, but I noticed that M151 Mutts and some HMMWV's use a manual pump with a similar pumping mechanism. I ordered one from ebay and it showed up.

The plan is to drill the rivets and move the pump to the Jeep knob and bracket. This looks like a great solution to get a working washer pump. I haven't done it yet, but it looks like it will work.

I'll update when I get it swapped out.

I'm not sure what I'll do about the crusty knob. I may try some body spot filler to get it smoother and then paint it.

I thought the OP wanted the original function and appearance. If that's not important, there are plenty of electric replacements.

Agreed, but I'm trying to get an original style one that works.

    Swapped out the pumps tonight.

You can't really drill out the rivets because they spin. I ended up knocking the swedge off them with a screwdriver blade and a hammer.

Be warned. When the rivets come loose, they fly apart from the return spring pressure.

I used some 6-32 screws to put the new pump on the old knob mechanism. Fits great and seems to work! Next I need to resurrect the knob.
