Three more odd and ends done, Gas filler back in place, Speed hut GPS speedometer antenna installed and cable run to speedo. Tuffy glove box installed. No I didn't paint it to match thought the contrast to the blue was good.

Replaced the plastic bushing on the mirrors with an AL one. You would think Kentrol would use one on their chrome mirrors. They also work well with the doors.

Dual battery maintainer for when the Jeeps sits for a while. Modified the 110v cords with weather tight plugs so I didn't have 6 feet of cord just wired up under the hood. Installed a bulk head 110v plug so I can just plug it in. Didn't want a cord just hanging out some place, or have to open the hood to plug it in. ( I have all my rigs wired up this way)

Still waiting on tires. Did a little detail work. "Jeep" is decal, tailgate is paint.

Progress is looking great! You may or may not kick yourself, but I think that stencil on the tailgate is actually TWO stencils. The "Jeep" never showed up on a willys, but rather came in around the intermediate era.

Hope that didn't come off as negative, because I think what you're doing is amazing and inspiring!

No problem, its not a restoration so accuracy is not that important to me. Also when I close the tire carrier you can't see it.

Still killing time waiting on tires.
Mounted my High Lift Jack on the spare tire carrier. Took a bit of figuring out. It is a 58in Jack so when I centered it and opened the carrier the foot would hit the top. So I off set to the drivers side, then it stuck out to far on that side (pass the top) so I cut about 6 inches off to keep it from nailing some one in the head.

Gave up waiting for BFG to ship tires. Tire shop called and they pushed out the delivery date by another two weeks after almost a month already. We talked and he could get Maxxis Trepadors in about a week so I switched to those. One arrived Wednesday and the other four came in Thursday. Spent Thursday afternoon dropping them on to the bead lock wheels. This morning I took them down to the tire shop to get them to seat the back bead and balance all 5. The CJ6 is now sitting on it's own four feet in new shoes.

Still fighting the front brake line leaks, I have changed the bolts and washer 2or3 times and they still leak. Called Metal Cloak and ordered new front lines and hardware. Wait four days for them to come in. Went to grab the box off the front porch and could not lift the box with one hand. What the heck! I know I am getting old but really brake lines! Got the box in side and opened it up and it was a pair of shocks! And to add insult to injury they are for a JK and I don't even own a JK. Called Metal Cloak to see what happened to my break lines. The very nice person said "how did we get from brake lines to shocks". He ask for the shocks number and said "ah ha" it seems the shocks and the brake lines are very close in part numbers 1108 and 1018. Brake lines and return label are on the way.

The jeep is looking so good! Are you driving it yet?

I really like those beadlock wheels. What model are they? I'm guessing that they're 5 on 4.5? I'm looking for a good 5 on 5.5 beadlock.

They are Champion Bead Locks, 15X10, 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern. I had the wheels so I had the axles built to the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern. A quick search of the web says they suspended operations in 2018 due to the death of the founder. I didn't find any thing that said they had resumed.

No I am not driving it yet. I am taking it down to the exhaust shop to get an exhaust system put on Tuesday. Then the next step is to the glass shop to get the windows back in the top. Still have some small issues to fix before I feel it will be road worthy, but soon I hope.

The CJ6 saw the light of day for the first time. Moved it out of the shop under its own power to load on the trailer for the trip to the exhaust shop in the morning.

Alright, so I'm intrigued by your trailer. Any details on it?

Well got the exhaust installed, took a chance and decided to drive it home, didn't make it apparently one of the freeze plugs I installed blew out. So the motor comes out again. THIS TIME it goes to the shop for a full rebuild. NOT talking a chance again.

The trailer was originally built to carry a boat on top. I changed it to a flat deck to carry extra toys, chairs etc. It's been modified a bunch. Changed the deck, shortened the tongue it had a real long tongue for the boat to stick over the front. Trailer has a 9000lb GVW. The builder advertised it could carry a suburban and a 3200lb boat. I bought it used. The deck raises and lowers like a 4 post lift, pins in place when lifted.

This CJ6 looks great. It has been a great build to follow. I'm hoping one of my 6's comes out half as nice as this one has. Get that motor back in and drive it's brakes off.
