My Jeeps are in Jacksonville FL. Took about 3 weeks to ship them from St Croix. I’m flying down today and will be bringing them up to VA. I’ll post pictures once I have the rig set up to travel.

Picked up the Jeeps at the Jacksonville port. I had them set up to tow when I dropped them off on St Croix, so it was just a matter of hooking the tow bar to the JK and plugging the lights in. Made it almost to NC before stopping for the night. Should be to the new house by early tomorrow evening.

I don't know if I could go 3 weeks without seeing my jeep.:waiting:
Let alone send it off on some hole in the water for 3 weeks.

Why the super long hitch extension? A tow bar can put a lot of strain on the towing vehicles hitch when making sharper turns while maneuvering around parking lots and gas stations.
I've done that I-95 trip, at least up through NC, more times than I can remember.
    Safe travels!

Nice Tux, must be a 64 with the snorkel port in the hood. Good Luck.

The hitch extension is to clear the spare tire while still keeping the tow bar level. It’s not ideal, but it seems to work fine.

That snorkel cutout was phased out in the '66 model year.

Thanks Donny, I put a 66 hood on my Jeep no port, thought they phased them out in 65 for some reason.

Made it home fine and averaged about 12-13 mpg. The battery in the CJ is dead from sitting and I apparently have a brake fluid leak somewhere as the rear circuit was completely empty. I’ll get it straightened out this weekend and give both Jeeps a good bath.
