Where did you get that spacer? My current spacer is nearly identical to the one in the OPs ebay link, but shorter. I need something taller so my air cleaner will clear the choke cable.

The oil bath does not use one. Dry filter does. The OP pic looks shorter and different than my oem (see pic below).

The first E-bay one looks like one that's on my Dad's Buick V6 from a 64 or 65 Skylark with a paper element air filter. He says it was on the engine when he pulled it from the wrecking yard. It could be a Buick part.

Search "spacer"... You will find threads with some other ideas.

Thanks for posting this - I've been lifting the hood for a year to set the choke on my 66. Hopefully this is the fix.

It was for me. Before the spacer I put on, the choke cable would get pressed down causing it to bind.

My oil bath does not have a spacer. That being said, is there any benefit to installing one? Teach me Mr. Myagi, teach me.

mine doesn't have one either be my oil bath seams to push on the choke and binds a little so I hope this will fix that. But I'm reading that the oil bath didn't have a spacer but the paper air filter did.Does anyone have a picture of the manual choke cable on the v6 oil bath without the spacer maybe mine is connected wrong. My oil bath still has the has most of the sticker that says front so I think I have it going the right way. Thanks

If I had the correct 1966 oil bath for my 1966 cj5, the spacer would not be needed as the bottom of the oil bath has a notch for the choke cable to be clear.
