Hey all, six years ago I stumbled across Christian Hazel's Facebook post about this Mapco A/C bracket that came on what would become the Ultimate Adventure CJ6 (IIRC). He offered to trade it for the stock alt mount so that this setup could go to a more vintage built CJ (again IIRC). I traded him my stock alt mount and its sat in my garage ever since. I'm finally in the process of painting it up to install it, I heard of these existing about 10 years ago, but this one exploded diagram is all I've ever found.

Anyone have more info or insight on these? Much thanks all. (first pic by Christian Hazel)

What a great way to add a compressor. That looks easy to build.

That looks like the bracket that came on Jeepsters with factory/dealer A/C. I used to service one years back, and it was a pain even adjusting points, and everything had to come off to change the water pump. I remember cussing that bracket!

I sent this to forum mumber Tarry_99 years ago and he drew up plans to make a copy for his own build. Most brakes I've seen on this forum are smaller and less bulky. This thing is big and heavy but I'm a sucker for cool vintage parts, especially when it's such a good trade.

Mapco today makes oem style replacement parts, and many years ago someone posted here on the forum that they acquired the brackets Mapco made for the Buick V8.

I agree Donny, it looks like this thing would block everything. I work on modern cars for a living, so a little tiny bit of me is used to the idea of having to take it off for everything. That being said, I hadn't thought about the points! I'll ditch those before I put it back together.

The bracket finally has paint after all these years.

You can see the Mapco logo on the portion where the compressor sits.

I helped a friend install one of those brackets for the AC system in his Jeepsteer. It looked great when finished to get the period correctness. We did both agreed that what I came up with was a lot easier to install for just wanting a compressor. And it works nicely with my HEI but it does rub on the hood a little.

There's absolutely better ways to do this thats for sure. Before I got the bracket I took note of another forum member's V6 OBA York setup and planned to copy it since it fit a little better.

But I'm a sucker for old accessory parts, it's hard to get away from. :D
