Hi All, I only have a spall rusty piece of my transmission floor cover. I don’t really know how I should proceed. Do I try to find a repro floor cover (seems to be backordered right now), or do I fab my own. Not sure yet if I will put in a 4 speed. For those who have made their own transmission tunnels; any thoughts on size, shape, or design? I don’t want to be uncomfortable if I’m going to be in it for hours at a time. What worked, what didn’t? Thank you, -blalp

Mine was gone on the flat parts, so I welded in steel, fit it and put in the bolt holes.
I got a used one like, I have one on the wall that is beyond repair, but I have repaired some used ones.
Got the toolbox I'm using in the 64 from Unkel Dale.

You can take 1/8” rod, weld it up to make a skeleton. Then cut pieces of sheet metal based on the shapes the rod makes. Weld the sheet metal together and grind with a flap wheel and then done.
