Ok, Jason and everyone, I got a call from Rapco. It wasn't Mike, forgot the name, but he says he has a stack of postal jeep frames DB? They're boxed, some were equipped with Saginaw gear~ I hope he can follow up with some pictures:( (I'll turn that into smiley face if he does). He says he can ship half a frame too. They're probably about a 5-6 hour drive from here which wouldn't keep me from driving, but just need to know more! There would be fabrication as for one, I'd have to install motor supports for the Dauntless and perhaps countless things which are unknown to me. In the meantime, I stripped down the frame to it bareness.
I may even check with some frame shops for he heck of it.

    Why not build your own?

Like 47v6 did... (pics are somewhat ruined due to PhotoBucket, "free" image hosting sucks).

Thanks Brad (darned photobucket!);) I guess it looks "easy" enough(lol) guess since I'm going with swingarm type clutch/brake, I guess it would simplify it~ I'll give it considerationo_O

I just have a question about leaf springs. I generally buy from Kaiser for a lot of things, at least on my brothers Jeep. I do want the full set of leaf springs, shocks. Is there a better setup when it comes to suspension? Stock height is Ok, but I see polytype bushing on ebay. As for shocks which comes in the kit, I was actually wanting some flashier looking shocks, like white with the dust covers things. Theirs are just blue.
    dne' (of course)

As for my frame, I know what I have and I'm going to repair it, but not going to show you guys until I'm done:p

I don't think the DB would by that bad a route. You could make your own frame...You certainly have the skillzzzzzz!

You could even repair that frame - cut the section and use new material either bent or from another frame. The heat is also why I use a plasma on that stuff. You then can box the frame and use fish plates on the seams. It will last longer than anyone here will be around to see it break.

You might even be able to see a fish plate I put on a frame for the '62 I'm doing... Also in there is a section on the Manual Saginaw I did on a 3B (or the base thread for it). I already put a manual Saginaw box on the '62 I'm building.

Got busy on the frame, I feel confident that this is going to work;) Still have strengthening plates to weld in.

There was a gap, so I cut up some plate to fit in those areas.

These are actually about 1 1/2 longer than the original, I'll make adjustments later on.

Now that there are some end pieces on the front, I can enable my rotissierie for the frame, then I can get to the areas to welds and put the plates in. I don't weld upside down;)

Hi guys;) I cleaned up my garage, then got to the jeep body to take it apart. Then took the engine partially apart.

When I removed the timing cover, there was this piece of metal~ any ideas where it came from? I couldn't find anything obvious, but was thinking maybe the oil pump part? The engine will be going to the machine shop later on, just doing some preliminary tear down.

I am looking at headers, don't really want to ruin my inner fenders, so these hugger type are quite attractive;) And seeing as how I'm going with the YJ type hanging clutch/brake, these would look nice. Yes, the price is up there, but I'm worth it;) Gee, kind of forgot what I did today!, played with the frame a bit, didn't accomplish much of anything:(

Looking at that broken off piece, that looks like the end of the oil pump shaft that drives the distributor.

I had great help from my rotisserie for the frame repair and stuff! omg, that's the greatest thing! However, first thing I flipped the frame, set it on some low/tall jack stands, leveled it, welded a bar in for some support in case the frame were to move being weakened during the process.

I'm seriously thinking about removing the bell crank bracketry. The frame here is obviously upside down;)

As a "splice", I welded some 5/16" plate for the drivers side and 3/16 on the passenger side.

I really wanted to use pipe, but couldn't find any locally, so I used 1/4" angle iron cut to fit and welded it all in place, still have cleanup to do to make it look nicer;)

I believe this will work for the p/s lines, haven't mounted the power steering gear yet, maybe tomorrow?

    Heeeeellllllppppp!
I really need help here in needing a measurement, I got 39" from eye to eye for the leaf spring bracket?? My frame was bent up and don't trust the measurement~ can someone supply me with the measurement;) ?
