Finally got my radiator in and the jeep is running again. Took it for a short test drive, and it appears the new temp sensor has the temp gauge working again.

However.....now the clutch pedal sticks intermittently. Most noticeable when trying to start out in 1st.

It will come about half way up and sit there. I cannot pull it up with my foot, but if I push it back down and let off rapidly it will come up. It will also sometimes stick between 1st and 2nd, and 2nd and 3rd, but since I am already rolling, I stomp it and no problem.

Going to crawl under for a look see on my next days off, but thought I would ask the experts what to look for when I get there.

    Thanks

    Steve

Why not do that first? Could be any number of things, possibly obvious.

Ran out of time, dark, cold and windy. I don't have the luxury of a garage to work in.

Me either, and near zero with snow here.

But you'll have look at it sometime. Just guessing otherwise.

You have through-floor pedals? How is the side-play? Have you searched the archive regarding pedal shaft bushings, etc? Tried greasing them?

When I picked up my 71, the clutch would get stuck down because it was hanging up on the headers. Not sure if that is court case or not, but confused me for longer than I’d like to admit.

The clutch linkage on the early's is pretty primative and prone to wear. As has been mentioned when you crawl under and inspect, you're likely to find some parts that need some love.;)

    Some Common problems:
    Pedal sticking on floor?
    Broken return spring (s)?
    Lubed?
Tube across frame and t- case rotating properly?

This is part of the reason folks swap to swing pedals
