Is the passenger seat mount exclusive to the Commando or was it used in other Jeep vehicles of that era? Mine does not have the hook and metal strap that the hook bolts to that keeps the seat from tilting forward. I am going to start searching for a correct set of mounts. The other aspects of the mounts are correct, it has the titling parts up front.

I've seen a latch on early CJs that is similar but the plate that bolts to the floor I've only seen in Jeepsters. I may have one I'll look.

There’s a bracket on the floor? What year is it? On ours.... if you don’t want the seat to flip it’s called the seat belt. Lol Ours is a 67’ some say it’s built in 66’ 887th off the line. Where is the bracket at? curious minds.... ( yes it’s dirty, and yes it hasn’t been out in quite awhile )

    Cheers,
    Tony

I also drove a 67, and don't remember a floor latch. Did have a jack that mounted underneath the seat.

I disassembled 4 Jeepsters 67 to 71 and two had it two didn't. They were all hard top versions.

I believe my 67 did not have the latch originally, but it seems it would be a wise item to have to keep the seat from tilting forward in a hard stop. I have seen the latch and the mount advertised so I have to believe some Jeepsters came with this, I’m guessing the later years would have had them.

Tony the latch mounts on the inside of the inner passenger seat mount while the plate mounted on the floor. Best I can figure out.
