The PO did it. Doesn’t look like it would be difficult at all. Def needed room for the motor.

Well, my brothers jeep is "officially" finished. it was a 7 month ordeal, lots of fun! Though it's his jeep, I've got my heart and soul in his machine and the brains of the operation. I've got my eye on my next project~ I hope to reveal it soon if it comes through;)

That looks great. Good job, and 7 months is doing it pretty quickly for a full rebuild.

Thank you fellow jeeparoos!~ funny thing, my brother just a day ago wanted to buy a used 2015 Triumph Thruxton~ I was a bit bewildered why he wanted a motorcycle. I convinced he did not need a motorcycle as we've been through that stage in our lives and have survived~ so this morning he decided not to buy it. On the way to get the little jeep inspected, he had two drivers at the light tell him how cool his jeep is. He was excited and I think that will help him move on and enjoy this awesome jeep, even perhaps join me at classic car events. I say Rob, you will get more compliments from now on~ it's an awesome thing;)
I must say this has been a fun project, knowing that the definition of "fun" has evolved over the years.

A couple weeks ago we got hit with snow like we rarely see...a foot of fresh in one night over the previous 6" or so...locked the town down pretty good. The wife and I took a couple trips cruising around...I have never had so many thumbs ups, high fives, pictures taken, or seen so many smiles on peoples faces as we drove around. I hate snow, but the Jeep made it a very memorable and fun day:)

It was probably 3ish hours to get out there at 60-65 mph and the Jeep handled like a champ. I beat on it over the weekend and it made it all the way back home with no major issues!

Progress, just to show I have not been asleep at the wheel. But pneumonia has kicked my butt for about 2 1/2 weeks. Cold air makes me nuts, so I have been limited to barn duties on warm days. New springs, shackles, lights (all) some wiring gremlins drove me nuts. Shocks on the way, be here this week. New, used super top. BestTop seats, all oils/fluids changed. This this runs great. Thought I'd share a few and back in the barn. Yes, snow today, but not bad.

On the "last summer" jeep, Is that a YJ spring conversion? What did you use for the front shock tower extensions? Did you do anything to the rear shocks?

    Alcan spring conversion
Used a 80s CJ shock mount with 1 3/4" round tube extension and stud.
Stock position on the rear using quarter elliptic springs.
