New Engine Mounts, But V6 Is Still 1" Out Of Level

    I believe that they are factory, both my CJ3B and my C101 have them.
    Here they can be seen on the C101 factory drawing, item # 4 and #26

    Does anyone know exactly when the T-14 came into use on the CJ's? The Novak site indicates it was during the 1967 model year:

    Fred's jeep was built in Nov. 1966, and mine was built in Aug. 1966. Mine definitely has the T-86. I'm wondering if maybe the T-86 was phased out in between those time frames and was replaced with the T-14, which might have required the crossmember spacers?

    If he has a T-14, there should be raised "T-14" on the side of the case. Also stamped on the top cover/shift rail assembly if I remember correctly. If so, the picture below is the proper cross-member set-up for the T-14. Something seems a little funny there with the spacers too, the V6/T-14 combo usually has 2-3 - 1/4" spacers. What he has there seems excessive...like someone previously tried to correct for something?

    Both the CJ6's I owned had spacers between the crossmember and frame. The early cj5's I've owned were pretty well stripped when I got them. The only reason I can think of is the spacers were to reduce driveline vibration. As far as the change dates for T86 to T14 who really knows, the only thing consistent about Jeeps is inconsistency.     My 64 had the spacers as well between the cross member and frame. When I made my motor mounts for the 302 in it, I originally took them out, but realized that the drive line angles were too much and caused some binding. I ended up putting them back in and it fixed my drive line angle.

    If I'm not mistaken the engine isn't supposed to sit level. The passenger side is supposed to be lower than the drivers side, hence the wood spacers. It's to provide clearance for something, I don't remember what it was now. Old age, you know?
