New to me 1970 jeepster. V6 auto, power steering, power brakes.. Plan is to keep it looking original.
Add some minor changes like suspension & braking upgrades.

We've started tearing it down for a restoration.
Body is almost ready to come off. I'm having issues with the windshield frame. Is there a trick to separating the windshield frame from the main body ?
The Three bolts are out. I don't see any other fasteners that hold it on....
Seems like it should move up and out ? But thats not moving it

There are more bolts. At least two more. The sides of the frame extend down and the bolts are accessable under the dash on both sides.

Look inside the sides under the dash. As Jackdog said, think it's two more bolts per side. Either 1/2" or 9/16" head on the bolts.

Got it. Those were the issue. I looked up there multiple times before my original post, never seen them.
    Thanks!

Rocker & most of the floor is rusted pretty bad, so we removed most of the floor, had some new metal formed up.

So the new floor will be some new metal, some old metal, whats the best coating for the underside? Consider new & old metal ?

These picts work? or is there a better way to add them in?

I like them full size like photo #1 but that’s just me. People on a slower connection might prefer the thumbnails to be honest.

You have a great set-up there. The factory power steering, brakes. Also the v6 and automatic are close to bulletproof.

800X600 pixels is perfect for forums. They're large enough and load fast.

Yes, your mix of old and new looks a lot like how it went on my '71. Gonna be a great Jeep once that's all solid!

Actually, your drum brakes are very effective In stock form when a good working order. Put your money in repairing the body.
    Looks good!

No updates or pics of the body, but I am still working on it. But I have a Question on exhaust manifold bolts. What to use for replacements . Can I use grade 5 bolts or is there a specific type? Also there was no gasket(s) between the manifold and the head, shouldn't there be?

No gaskets between the manifold and engine, they are a machined fit. Bolts are just 3/8 grade 5 I believe.

I used grade 5 bolts, I applied anti-seize to the threads too. I chose to use the exhaust manifold gaskets on my 70.
    Your body works looks great.
