When it’s raining, snowing or too cold to take the Jeep out, I take my ‘83 k10 beater truck out. I also use it for odd jobs around the house and if the trail is too scary for my Jeep. I has a good radio, a custom 4” stack, pallet bed and I shortened it quite a bit. The 350 in it is a little tired, but the 700r4 shifts good still. I have some other good plans for it. ;)

I'm not going to touch that comment because these types of things drive me nuts (and I'll banned if I really say what's on my mind). All trucks have good and bad things about them.

Sooooo, to get this thread back on track, this is what I want to do to the truck:
    - new rear frame from an '87 Suburban with rear mounted tank and in tank pump (can ditch the 10 gallon keg tank :D)
    - Dana 44 HD front with future OX locker 4.56 gears
    - Eaton 72 full floater with a lunch box locker 4.57 gears
    - TH400 with shift kit
    - Dual transfer cases, first is an NP241, the rear one is a NP205
    - Ditch the pallet bed for a steel flatbed with integrated roll bar
    - Exoskeleton
    - Hydro assist steering
    - A/C from a parts Suburban cab
    - On-board air
    - Re-do the exhaust, but keeping the stack
    - Rebuilt or different engine
    - Super swamper TSL's, not sure what size
    - Might do coil overs in the front
    - New windshield glass
    - Repair the driver's floor

The sad part is, I have most of these parts kicking around.

My friend did dual cases in his truck, he has a 93 chevy and used an NP208 and an NP241. The 208's and 241's have the same input/output shaft size and splines (TH400), so the shafts just slide together. I can build a custom adapter to mate the transfer cases together. The NP205 I have is a rare one that was mated to a TH400. :sneak:

One mod I already did was put a huge 6.2 diesel radiator in. No overheating problems with it.

It should be a fun spare parts build.

So last weekend, the beater truck had a little mishap. The engine blew up. Now its time to search for a 5.3.

I mated up the turbo 400 to the NP241 and the NP205. I just have to make an adapter to bolt the NP205 to the NP241 and then make the transfer case shifters that mount to my transmission shifter.

Sweet build. Chevy's suck, but Nate you always make something cool out of what ever you build so this should be fun.

Wow, that drive-train is as long as a 5. I am looking forward to how this is going to turn out.

Ok I'm a little slow sometimes and I just can't figure out what is the purpose of the two transfer cases they make brownies and other under drive overdrive units that would be a shorter combination.
