Our Jeeps are Pretty much expected to get " a little floaty " over 85 MPH >>>>

To help with Tim's OP, Does it have it's OEM Stabilizer bar and Shock ? that's the one that is horizontal . Look there first .
The plus side is you're head'n in the right direction with the front Disc brake conversion . Get the remaining rear Drums machined & cut also. Your gonna find it's , IMO & recent experience , at least a 75 % improvement !

I think we’re going to need to see a few “during” shots.

I continue to cross items off my to-do list. Rewired everything front to back that was suspect, built my own harness where needed. Nice to have all lights working correctly and water / oil gauges. Still need to address heater.

Next up on my list was banishing the squirrels in the handling. Purchased 4 degree steel shims to get caster in range. Before tearing it apart I could see some of the spring bushings were bad. Pulled the front springs and the rear bushings had no rubber left at all. All springs were bolted on with 3/8" bolts when 7/16" would fit correctly. Checking toe-in it was at 3/4" in. Shocks did not rebound when compressed. All being addressed as I put it back together.

Expect big improvements in handling next time I drive it.

Is that a hen decoy or did she get paid for the layout shoot? Great job on that build by the way. I like.

That turkey followed me for about 30 minutes on the trail. It was a pretty decent spotter for the most part.

I have never had a Ross box that wasn't worn out. I suspect most others haven't, and that's why we all think they're squirrelly. I am planning on rebuilding the one in my son Alekczander's CJ2A though, so hopefully no squirrels make a nest in it!

Thanksgiving weekend was our much anticipated trip to Havasu Landing for their annual Poker Run across the desert. This being the CJ5's first time out in the dirt I was wondering how it would do. The past 3 years we did this run in our JK so I had plenty to compare. We ran with our buddies in a Zuki with Toyota axles, 36's and a 1.6L, and my other buddy in his buggy with an ecotec. We could not keep up with the buggy... but I was happy with the amount of power this 258 had out on the trail. I never once had concerns with the brakes or power. It did take a little getting used to how far we would lean over in off camber situations. But the biggest thing I noticed was how much I was smiling as we tore down the trails. Secondly was how much attention a CJ gets in an event like this.
