    Sorry about the multiple posts.....
I’m most concerned about the front to back depth. On other Jeeps with the same mount and winch they are typically mounted on top of the bumper to the front edge...
In those setups the winch looks very close to the grill. Did you extend the frame?
    Thanks again

Searchers 4wd has a mount plate. I bought one for moving my 8274 lower for the thru bumper mount. I haven’t done it yet, but from the measurements it will be tight between the winch and the grill.

I got the fancy! I figured it was alittle wider which would spread the force out alittle more on the bumper...plus it’s rare I can afford something fancy.

Nice! I can hardly make one for that price. Any idea why the extra cutout on the fancy version?

I have added a few close up pics. The top photo shows the winch bracket with supports. The second, third and fourth show the 1/4" plate steel welded in between the winch plate and the inside of the bumper. The last pic shows that the winch bracket is flush with the bottom of the bumper.

Nice work. I’m about to do the same installation on my ‘59. Do you mind sending a picture of the clearance between the grill and winch.

Nice job! I would like to see some pictures of your Saginaw installation as I would like to follow this set up. Did you go through the front crossmember with the steering shaft? Must have changed the front dump manifold out as well? Thx.

Looks similar to how I mounted my M8274.

Well i finally got mine mounted through the bumper. Ended up with about 1/4” between winch and grill. The bumper is in about stock position and using the 1/4” fancy plate from searchers. Looks a lot cleaner than when I had it above the bumper.

Hopefully I attached photos correctly showing the finished product using the Searchers "fancy" plate. I use the little cut out as a hook point to keep the hook from dangling. The clearance between the winch motor and the grill is very tight.

Next to the last picture-One of the bolts seems to be missing that bolts your recovery blocks to the frame-maybe because the Saginaw box is in the way?

Oh you saw that did you?
Yes, I have a gusseted plate welded to the end of the frame that bolts to. I forgot to weld a nut back there before I put the saginaw box on, and after 45 minutes of trying to line a nut up with a small magnet stick, I gave up. The thought of cutting a head off and gluing it on has crossed my mind.

I kinda figured something like that. Heck-3 bolts will probably hold anyway.
